Ria Chauhan

Communications Officer

Ria is the Communications Officer at UNICEF and works on communications, advocacy, and social media for YuWaah, Generation Limited in India. She has 2+ years of experience in development communications working on projects for gender equality, youth empowerment, green technology, and sustainable enterprise development in rural India as the Knowledge Management and Communications Officer for Development Alternatives. She holds a master’s degree in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) where she focused on development, human rights, gender, and peace-building and was the Gender Editor and the Middle East Editor for the London Globalist. Prior to this she pursued a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Delhi and holds a Visharad in Kathak classical dance. She has worked on research projects for National Commission on Dalit Human Rights, Delhi, and led communications efforts for Iranian and Kurdish Women’s Rights Organisation, London.
